Me in a Nutshell
Born in Brazil Fabi lived part of her childhood in South Africa & India and early in life she knew she would be a therapist in extension of her compassion. Recognised as a life lover, she has always been drawn by the elements of Nature to heal her body and nourish her Soul and encouraged to embody movement in different exercises throughout life which allowed her to develop great body awareness and muscular memory. Her personal essence resonates lightness integrated with loving kindness and supportive strength. Following her instincts, she never stopped studying and considers that sharing her knowledge is a true gift and a blessing on its own. Moved by her heart, she is guided by gratitude, optimism, honesty and respect in all she does.
Her first contact with yoga was at 18 y/o (2003) , in a Swasthya Yoga class and she fell in love ever since with complete admiration. She deepened her practice and studies in Vinyasa yoga over the past years and concluded her first 200hr Ashtanga Vinyasa YTT early in 2015, in Nepal under the guidance of Indian masters according to the traditional yogic discipline. Interesting enough the course coincided with one of the most devastating earthquakes on this planet. It was a blessing in disguise and allowed her to discover the true power of yoga therapy and devotional practice. Following this training she has also completed a Mindfulness for Well-Being Program (MBSR) by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 2015 , a 200hr Vinyasa YTT at Creature Yoga (Byron Bay, Australia 2017), a 50hr Yin Yoga & Mindfulness training with Sarah Owen (Byron Bay, Australia 2017) and a 300hr YTT at ISHTA Yoga in NYC (2018/19) deepening her studies in Hatha, Ayurveda and Tantra with Alan & Sarah Finger. Fabi is registered at Yoga Alliance as a E-RYT 500 Yoga Teacher and is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Public Health at The University of Melbourne.
With an extensive healthcare experience of just over a decade and a solid background in yoga, mindfulness & wellbeing Fabi holds a BHlthSc (Nutr&Diet)., a PostGradDip in Functional Sports Nutrition, an AdvDip in Naturopathy, a Dip in Western Herbal Medicine & a Dipl in Remedial Massage Therapy. As a teacher she is a E- RYT 500 in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga & meditation since 2015. Having had more than 800hrs of registered yoga trainings and more than 9 years of practice in her yoga journey she has been teaching yoga since 2015 and was a student of Alan & Sarah Finger, Duncan Peak, Greg & Taylor Cooper, Tahl Rinsky, Rose Baudin, Elena Brower, Sarah Owen.
Living in Australia since 2010 she has been dedicated to share her knowledge through consults, yoga classes, workshops and retreats since 2015 via her own brand 'The Raw Yogini' and is currently based in Melbourne. ‘Raw’ brings the idea of natural, untouched and preserved keeping a direct relation to Naturopathy and natural healing resources. On that same note, the essence of 'raw' reminds us of bhakti, or the practice from the heart, the pure devotion . Feeling truly connected to her heart's wisdom, Fabi combines intuition with multiple background experiences to provide an authentic version to her naturopathic treatments and a uniquely soft approach on to her classes, based on Vinyasa Krama and intelligent creative sequencing.
